As a PPP Legal Expert, Mr Anand has been instrumental in establishing the Public Private Partnership regulatory framework in the State of Punjab, and has played an integral role in numerous national and international projects executed on PPP mode. His work on projects undertaken in India and abroad has been a testament to his knowledge of the domain, and has borne him the tag of one of the prominent practice leaders in the PPP sector in the Asian region. For such immense contribution towards the development of PPPs, Mr Anand has also been presented with a prestigious award by the Vice President of India and has been named in a number of esteemed global legal directories.

As a Construction Lawyer, Mr Anand has been the torch bearer towards the development of various infrastructure and construction projects, and has rendered professional legal services pertaining to dispute resolution, legal advisory, arbitration, etc. to a number of leading construction companies including Ceigall India Limited, CDS Infra Projects Limited, and Rajdeep Buildcon Limited. A large number of private construction companies, technical consultants, financial consultants, transaction advisors and infrastructure related government agencies regularly consult him for the structuring, development & implementation of developmental projects across variety of sectors. The prestige held by Mr Anand in this field is also reflected through his appointment as Member of the FIDIC Contracts Committee. Being the sole Indian to have been appointed in this role, Mr Anand, acting as a liaison with the Task Group ‘TG18’ for the development of PPP FIDIC Contracts, is set to transform the face of the sector.

As an Arbitration Expert, Mr Anand has been on both sides of the spectrum, acting as a just arbitrator and a proficient lawyer, in maters pertaining to construction disputes, service law disputes, and contractual disputes. His recent feat as a lawyer has been the attainment of an award amounting to approximately INR 455 Crores (appx. USD 54.21 Million) for an Indian Company in relation to the Construction of an Alternate Tunnel Route to Ghat-ki-Guni in Rajasthan. While on the other hand, Mr Anand has also acted as a Sole Arbitrator for a dispute, where the award rendered by him has been upheld by the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana, and has also been empaneled as an Arbitrator with the Gujarat International Maritime Arbitration Centre. 

As an expert in Mediation and Conciliation, Mr Anand’s expertise dates back to the year 1998, when he drafted an Execution Petition and argued before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi in respect of the first conciliation settlement to have taken place in India under the provisions of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996. In addition to this, in the year 2022, he was able to successfully mediate on a dispute in relation to “Termination of the Binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Exclusive Rights of Afghanistan Premier League T20” by the International Relations Directorate of the National Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA), Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

As a Policy Maker, Mr Anand has been responsible for the overhauling of the infrastructure and construction legislation for the State of Punjab, and has also been integral in reforming various laws & policies existing in India as well as in countries like Zanzibar and Kenya. His work as a policy expert for projects financed by Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank have had a remarkable impact on the sectors, and brought about a positive transformation of the law.

As a Corporate Lawyer,  Mr Anand has acted as Legal Advisor/Expert for a number of companies and large multi-national corporations like Microsoft Inc, Hyundai Electronics, Daewoo Motors, Ericsson, Fremantle, Raytheon, Itochu Telecom etc and has also successfully handled a plethora of cases on behalf of other leading companies and prominent individuals before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana, as well as before various Tribunals.
